"Another brilliant performance from an NHS hospital..."

About: Royal Lancaster Infirmary

What I liked

Good communication with the consultant anaesthetist and consultant surgeon both before and after the operation.

Excellent staffing in pre, theatre and recovery.

A very good level of staffing back on the ward. Staff were all friendly, professional and caring. They worked well together as a team.

The food was regular, hot and of a good standard. Particularly likes fish, chips and mushy peas - no mean feat to deliver that dish to communication with the the numbers who asked for it and for it to be hot and not soggy.

What could be improved

A few small matters:

1. The vertical blinds on the ward need replacing or removing.

2. Some beds have lost their bed-heads and monkey bar, removed at theatre and not joined together later.

3. I have a colostomy bag and use a mirrir when changing it. Mirrors are not well sited in the toilets.

Anything else?

Overall, a brilliant service from start to end. A huge thankyou to all.
