"Broken fibula"

About: Torbay Hospital / Accident and emergency

I had a fall when out rambling on Sunday 21 October. The care I received from start to finish was exemplary - I could not have asked for better. From the paramedics who were so kind and gentle, to every one of the staff in A and E I felt humbled at the care they took to keep me calm, comfortable, informed and treated.

One of the things stood out: they ALL called me by me preferred name, not the more formal title on my records. At the time it mattered.

Everything was explained, even that there was going to be some discomfort.

To the cheerful team in x Ray, huge thanks. You were brisk but so lovely. ‘ it’s Tessa back ‘ they said as if they were genuinely pleased to see me!

What a great team of professionals. Well done you all.

Hugely grateful Rambler.
