What I liked
The following is a copy of the letter sent to the hospital, after discharge. Three months on I feel fitter than I have felt for 20 years. My case was complex and chronic. I feel very re-assured that i go into my later years with this kind of care. I hope the current system goes from stregnth to strength and isn't torn apart by politicians making capital of peoples fears. We have a brillianf Health care system. Lets help make it even better!

Dear doctor,
Thank you seems an inadequate statement for the feelings I have about the care and professionalism with which you and your team have managed my condition.
I was frightened by my rapidly increasing attacks, their severity and complex nature. Above all you listened. My concerns were dealt with, with knowledge and candour. You were reassuring not with platitudes but with a coherent plan that gave the clear message that I was in safe hands.
The team that surrounds reflected this ethos at every step of the route mapped out.
In a very busy ward I was nursed, monitored, encouraged and managed towards my leaving with confidence. The post discharge support was timely and helpful. An exit strategy before you begin is very motivating!
I have lived in many countries and experienced health systems that vary enormously from this country. I can honestly say I have never received such a high standard of care as I did in the hands of you and your team.
Please pass this message on, I certainly have. In the cynical National atmosphere that colours the opinions of an often misinformed public this is a shining example of the National Health at its very best.
Thank you
MrsTubbs
