"Still awaiting appointment"

About: Stepping Hill Hospital / Clinical haematology

I was diagnosed with CLL in 2013 and was regularly monitored under a watch and wait system. I attended my appointment in December 2017 and advised my next appointment would be in four months time. In March I waited for my appointment which didn't arrive. I contacted SHH and was told there was now a large backlog for appointments and it could be August before I would be seen. In September I again contacted SHH to be told that the appointments hadn't been released yet.

It is now the middle of October and I am still waiting for my appointment.

It is imperative that should my condition deteriorate that action is taken quickly but without the regular monitoring nobody knows whether I am getting worse.

I am sorry to hear of the poor experience you have had following your appointment in December 2017.

Can I please encourage you to contact our Patient and Customer Services department who will investigate this for you. You can contact them via email PCS@stockport.nhs.uk or via telephone 0161 419 5678.

Alternatively please contact myself emma.rogers@stockport.nhs.uk.

Kind regards
