I have a blue badge for my car but can't use car at present.
I have a handicapped persons certificate of registration
I live up a road that is just a dirt track full of pot holes and had one incident and had to have surgery to my knee, due to a fall on the lane, my knee is not good and i am too afraid of going down the lane again, i have not walked down the lane for 3or4 years now.
I went to see the plastic surgeon about a previous operation, that also went wrong, between him and the sister they decided without my presence, that I was fit to get public transport, sometimes there is not a seat on a bus so i would be in big problems then.
My GP said I am not fit to go on public transport, I have had several falls.
The bus stop is about one and a half miles from my home So after about 2 hours after leaving the outpatients department and being in a room at the general office department, someone decided just this once i would get a car. That was all I needed because i would not set foot into that place again.
My husband was also told after he had a small stoke and was taken to Pinderfields by ambulance with no money on him, after being seen he was told he had to make his own way home, how can this be right if he was given an appt for Monday with transport to see the consultant of stoke victims
All they are interested in is the budget it comes before patient care and they don't care how you get there or home. It is not about patients it is about your budget, we spent £16 each way for a taxi total £32, yet the ambulance I have been told by the drivers that it cost £80 each way for every patient. Where are they coming from, I am trying to save money in that case.
"would never go to Pinderfield again"
