Usually the staff are fantastic however on this occasion I am shocked by the lack of care shown.
Two maternal aunts have passed away due to blood clotting one whilst pregnant. This had been known to the team. I awoke with a leg cramp thinking it was a normal symptom of pregnancy I continued on with my day. After 12 hours the pain was still in my calf and it was becoming increasingly difficult to walk. I called the labour team and was asked to come in. I was seen by a midwife and a Dr who gave me a thinner and asked me to come in the next day after a call as it was 11pm. At 2pm I rang to ask what was happening and was informed that the referall was not filled out and I was to come to the hospital to pick it up and be given an appointment for another day. I asked the nurse with my history would I be asked to wait another day. She ended up telling me if I came to work it's not that bad. I then made it very clear to her that, I called to ask exactly what was going on and that comment was not necessary or very professional. I thanked her and put the phone down.
Plain wrong!
"Unprofessional so disappointing"
