Since being unexpectedly admitted to hospital last November I have been under the care of the Rheumatolgy Dept at QA . I received excellent emergency treatment whilst an in-patient which then continued after discharge and is still continuing now .
I have had to have chemotherapy and the day care unit staff were excellent during the period I had to go in for infusions . They were all very friendly , helpful and always happy to explain what was happening or deal with concerns.
My consultant from day one he has been excellent again providing clear advice and explanations about my condition and treatment and always wiling to listen and answer questions.
I have continued follow up care and again the consultant and his team have been superb, if I ever have any flare up symptoms or just concerns they respond quickly and effectively . The patient advice line is also very good and I have had to use it a few times and again always receive prompt and good advice in response to concerns.
I remain very grateful for everything' that has and is still being done for what is a new and worrying situation I am now in but it is made better for the care I have received from professionals that also make the effort to make people feel better as well as medically helping.
"Excellent care"
