I very rarely visit the surgery - once in the last 3 years.
I had to go recently and was dreading it - instead I easily got an emergency appointment.
I was allocated to the GP who runs the emergency appointments.
My appointment was delayed but I believe this is due to the very thorough approach taken by said GP.
When it was my turn, I met a charming, empathetic doctor who listened to my various concerns and answered comprehensively.
In previous times, when I had severe depression, another GP at the surgery was absolutely brilliant and listened and understood my problems.
Yes, it is a very busy surgery - not it's fault but the fault of our local authorities for allowing development in housing to exceed the infrastructure that supports it.
I think we are very lucky to have a good surgery in our village - when I was waiting I noticed a lot of people going through from infants having vaccinations, people having blood tests and other emergency patients.
I hope that the funding comes through for the necessary extensions and improvements, but in the meantime I think the surgery should be commended for what they achieve.
"Doing a good job"
