Currently have a close relative on one of your wards. And I must say that along with the stress and worry caused by someone close to me being so very ill. I am utterly shocked by the utterly unprofessional and uncaring attitudes I have come across from your nurses. Having had someone rushed by a blue light to your hospital, firstly after being there for four hours I came home and phoned later that night only to be told I cant be told any news about my relative due to confidentialities... that I should of set up a password ( which no one mentioned whilst I was there) was told the visiting hours was 10 till 8... arrived the next day at 10... they had moved wards and the visiting hours was now 3 pm. Having travelled 10 miles... saw my relative.... approached the nurse station to speak to someone... you would think I was invisible.... there was maybe 6 staff sat chatting... and not one would give me eye contact... after interrupting a nurse... I was informed of my relatives very serious and life threatening condition quite sternly in front of maybe 6 nurses... 3 patients and about 6 visitors... where’s the patient confidentiality there then? Over the next few days having visiting twice a day. Not one nurse has spoken to me about the diagnosis... a visitor told me she asked and was given a different answer regarding the diagnosis... so the next visit I again approached the desk.... again was ignored for a good 5 minutes.... when I questioned the nurse asking about my relative (same nurse) again sternly said quite rudely as I said the other day...... same diagnosis.... that evening I discussed this with my partner and she took it upon herself to ring and say we feel we arnt getting answers and was told come in early and ask for a certain nurse and she will have a chat to you... I thought lovely... went early... walked up to the desk and said.. can I talk to .... as we rang earlier and was told come in early and have a chat... this was in earshot of the original (horrid one) who quite loudly said oh another one told to come in early... who tells them this..l gave a dirty look and walked away muttering and shaking her head... what an utter disgrace the way you treat people and make people feel in such a trying time.... I’m now visiting every day to a critically ill patient and it feels awful you feel you can’t approach the staff it is horrid. I have lived in many cities and had the misfortune of being a patient and visitor many of times in many different hospitals and I have never felt the way about staff the way I’ve felt about some of yours. They shouldn’t be doing the job treating people that way
"Discgraceful."
