I have been seen by the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital to get my carrier status of a primary immune deficiency disorder testes. The hospital staff and - especially one particular consultant immunologist working in the Department of Specialist Allergy and Clinical Immunology - have been extremely helpful in taking on my case. Knowing that the DNA screening process would be highly complex and time-intensive, requiring positive control samples etc, this consultant immunologist was always very kind and re-assuring along the way that they would do anything possible to help me get my carrier status tested. Knowing that this particular primary immune deficiency disorder is very rare and only very few clinics worldwide offer this service, I am extremely appreciative of the the RNTNE hospital's work on this front and hope that they will be able to help many more patients in the future!
