A complaint about the doctor.
I saw him in clinic on 27th September at 3 pm.
Firstly a nurse was present throughout the consultation without my consent or introduction. She was curt when she called me into the room.
When I entered the room, before I had even sat down, the doctor started reading the MRI report to me, without even introducing himself, he started stating, "no spinal stenosis,..."
He was dismissive of my explanation of the reasons for the referral, which was very upsetting as the previous consultant I had seen in that clinic was much more patient centred in his approach. I tried to tell the dcotor about this previous appointment but he was incredibly rude and interrupted me to sat that the other doctor has left the hospital. He interrupted me several times.
He continued to talk at me and disregarded my concerns about the failure of the radiographer to administer a contrast agent (gadolinium) during my MRI (despite inserting a cannula). Given that the reason for the MRI was to determine suspected infiltration of muscles and nerves with endometriosic implants that effectively made the whole exercise a huge waste of time and money.
Additionally during the time that he rattled off the observations of the MRI he mentioned 'thickening of the vaginal wall' and that neither of my ovaries were visible said I needed a referral to gynae but did not explain what this might mean prognostically. Thankfully I am being seen by the gynae team at King's College Hospital and recently underwent an ultrasound (where they did identify my remaining ovary) otherwise this exchange would have made me extremely anxious.
The doctor is extremely paternalistic and rude. I was appalled by the way he treated me and very upset.
"Unbelievably rude doctor"
