My toddler had fallen and hurt her wrist. I decided to take her to ED at Ayr hospital to get it checked out. I booked in the front desk who let us through to a paediatric waiting area which was locked.
As sad as it is that we need to used locked areas for children it did make me feel safe and it was a comfortable environment for my daughter. Not long after we were called through and booked in.
The staff nurses, ENP who popped her head in and doctor Beth who looked after us were all brilliant. Took time and treated my daughter with respect. We went through for an x-ray and the girls in the x-ray dept were amazing despite battling with a difficult patient (aka my daughter that wouldn't be still).
On a whole, a very positive experience where every member of staff showed care and compassion. Well done!
