"Admitted with AF of my Heart"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital / Accident and emergency

Took myself at approx 22.00 on Thursday 11th Oct to A and E where I explained I had irregular heart rate and difficult breathing

I was seen in Triage within 12 mins where on examination I was taken through to the assessment area and attended by staff and a Doctor immediately

And assessed with Arterial Fibrillation of my Head

Given injection of Beta Blockers and placed on monitoring equipment given chest X Ray in till bed available in main assessment room,

In the Moring I was seen by lovely Doctor who was amazing in her concern and explanation and helpful mannerto me in spite if a long shift through the night herself.

Then I was seen by a top member if the Cardiac Consultant who I now hold in the very highest Esteem for his help and support in arranging after assessing my Heart Condition a operation later that day of a procedure called Cardio Version to enable my heart to function in Sync in order to elevieate my symptoms.

The Consultant himself in spite of a very very busy schedule informed me that he would carry out the procedure and then contacted the anylithist to see me to discuss the procedure.

I went though the procedure at 17.05 PM that day which worked first time to 're sync my Heart.woken up at 17.25 PM the Consultant informed me it had been successfu.l

Himself and the staff that assisted in the procedure were all excellent and I can not praise enough even if I had the money to go private I could not have asked anywhere in the WORLD for a better team to have helped me though this problem with my Heart.

On being taken back to my assessment room I was then taken to the short stay ward upstairs to my own room where I was to me monitored though the night.

Then something happened which I still can't believe at 22.25PM the Consultant walked in to check on me also with a letter he had personally wrote out for me to take to the Freeman Hospital where I had a prior appoint with a consultant there the following Monday.

I can not thank him for everything that he did for me that day as he had been on the assessment ward from 7.45AM that morning and was still working at that late hour this is above the call of duty and just shows how dedicated and hard working the staff are at the QE.

Thanks for taking the time to write such a nice comment about the hospital and we're pleased to hear that your experience was such a positive one. We hope you're feeling better and we'll pass on your comments to the A&E department.
