Ths review covers the care my relative received in early 2018 at the Alderbourne Rehab unit.
Despite some dedicated and outstanding individuals among the nursing / hca staff, we found a largely uncaring attitude with little coordination or control of nursing standards in the unit. The nurse manager was a disinterested and ineffective individual.
Certain senior nurses could not have been more defensive and hostile when challenged on detailed issues around the care my relative was subjected to. One nurse in particular had an agressive bullying attitude not only towards patients' realtives but also towards her colleagues.
Is is these failings were not enough, the delaipdated state of the buildings, added to the sloppy and disinterested nursing care really sums up what was a most distressing period of our whole family.
