I just took my son for an appointment at the adult ENT department for his frequent very heavy nosebleeds. We received a phone call in the morning asking if we could attend 45 minutes before the original scheduled appointment. So we did and ended up waiting more than an hour anyway!
But that's not the worst bit. When we finally saw the doctor, she turned out to be the rudest weirdest professional I have ever encountered in my life. She barely looked at my son's nose and suggested cauterization. That's exactly what his GP had done already. But his GP had decided that we should explore the cause of all these bleeds more in depth and that's why he booked the specialist appointment. When I expressed my disappointment in such a superficial examination (his GP has already visited him like that countless times!) she became very aggressive and rude. She asked me why were we there and what more did we want her to do (!!!). She was unpleasant and I was becoming really annoyed with her. I had to tell her that maybe she should be checking whether my son could have a tumor or something else sinister. So then she exclaimed: "Oh that's why you are here then!" and proceeded into looking further inside my son's nose with and endoscope. Seriously?? So awkward...Being a doctor means also to be able to communicate politely and professionally with the patients. Something that this doctor is certainly unable to do. Shame on her.
"ENT department worst bedside manners!!"
