Waited 4 agonising months for appointment as I was struggling walking and consentrating total unusual for me and I was a bit worried being a healthy 35 year old previously.Consultant said I had no hard neuro signs and said it was anxiety I disagreed but he didn't listen just ordered a brain scan and suggested antidepressants if the scan was ok ( it was).long story short after two years of suffering a new very good gp ran some blood and discovered I had b12 deficiency. The change is night and day he saved my life.Neuro consultants are too reliant on brain scans and once they diagnosed me it takes a brve gp to go against there advice...I know they do a good job for the obvious but in my case it was hard people respect there authority including family members saying listen to the diagnosis of Anxiety pushing antidepressants on a person is wrong...if he ran bloods 2 years ago it would of saved a lot of suffering...
