"Ileostomy Reversal Operation and Hospital Stay"

About: Royal Bournemouth General Hospital

I had a reversal performed on Tuesday the 9th Oct and then was in Bay 1 ward 16 for 3 nights. I am more than happy to leave a glowing review as I was very well looked after after a very strenuous year involving a previous 10 hour operation in may in Basingstoke and Bournemouth was just as good for aftercare on ward.

Special thanks to the surgeon who performed the Op and who did an excellent job on it and took time to visit me on the ward afterwards and on discharge to make sure all was well so cannot thank him enough for this.

On the ward all of the staff were excellent but in particular the member of staff who helped out in times of need , sorry the male nurse who was exceptional in caring for me on a very bad night when I had a bleed and reassuring me and finally for the other member of staff who was also wonderful and looked after my needs perfectly.

There was a troublesome patient in my Bay which stretched their needs and I can see they were more than capable and as such so appreciative of how they can manage this other patient and still make sure the rest of us were seen to well also

A final thankyou also for the help with food and drinks and making sure we were all well looked after

Dear Rocky

Thank you for your feedback about your recent stay in our hospital, it is always nice to receive comments from patients about their stay.

We are pleased to hear that you had good experience and found the staff excellent and met your needs accordingly, especially when you had a bad night.

Your kind comments will be forwarded to the Sister on Ward 16 to share with the rest of those involved in your care.

We hope you are recovering well from your procedure and wish you all the best for the future.

Regards

Patient Engagement Team
