I was admitted to ward 22 post c-section for 24 hours with my new baby girl. I found the midwife on nightshift to be very helpful and friendly unfortunately can’t remember her name. I would also like to say one of the clinical support workers was amazing not only with me but her ongoing support for the other women in the room with me. she was very patient with them and helpful with the breastfeeding didn’t make them feel as though they didn’t know anything and feel bad about it. She is a credit to the unit
unfortunately I found the other clinical support on those shift to be very rude and abrupt and seemed to think I was lying when I said I had fed my daughter and for how long. This was confirmed when my mum was leaving and heard her telling the midwife “bed two says she’s fed for 30 mins but I haven’t seen her and think she’s at it need to keep an eye on that one”.
every time she spoke to me I found her to be accusatory rather than generally enquiring and I didn’t know she spoke about me like that at the time it was when I went home my mum told me as she didn’t want me to feel uncomfortable at the time.
