What I liked
I went to the Outpatients Hand Clinic this morning and was not at all satisifed with the Doctor's service. I was spoken to with disrespect - when he pressed my wrist, I told him it was painful. He raised his voice and said: "Yes, I know, it is my job". I thought his comment was rather disrespectful, as he was hurting me and I simply stated this. He was also extremely vague about his diagnosis. He told me I had possible ganglions on my wrist, whereupon I asked him what that meant. His response was very abrupt - as if he was in a hurry and did not have time to explain this to me. He then started typing on his computer and said that everything was set up for me. He did not once explain what the next process would be. Again, when I asked him what exactly had been 'set up' - he abruptly said I would have to have more tests done and a letter would be sent to my GP and I would receive a copy. He then stated that I had to email him once I received a copy of the letter to ask for further information. I am totally confused as to what the next steps are in my situation. Most of all, I feel that this Doctor was extremely abrupt with me and it seemed as if 'I was wasting his time'. Not a very good experience at all.
Anything else?
I wonder if a polite member of staff from the hand clinic could take a look at my file, contact me please and inform me what exactly is to follow in terms of tests, what will be done to eliminate the pain in my wrist. Thank you.
"Very unwelcoming"
