"Absolutely poor regard towards severe mental..."

About: The Whiteley Surgery

I called this morning absolutely broken and seeking help. I have BPD and spoke to a receptionist who told me that potentially my call would get rejected by the team at the hospital because 'I had already seen a doctor about my problem (as the GP do not offer same day appointments to their patients anymore! shocking!) I can only imagine what other individuals with severe mental health problems have undergone when they feel that they have no one else to speak to or gain any comfort. They try and do the right think by contacting their GP to get a referral but they get no joy out of any of it! Of course it is likely that you would have seen a doctor about your mental health issue because the majority of mental health problems are ongoing! You don't have chicken pox or a stomach bug, it is not something that just goes away. So you are telling me that if someone were to feel suicidal every morning, their call may get rejected because they already saw a doctor almost 2 years ago about it?! Shocking! Luckily, my referral wasn't rejected as an actual professional called me back, however a receptionist is supposed to act as first port of call for a patient and this lady was just awful! Absolutely appalled and considering going to another GP for actual assistance!!!
