Where do I start? To be honest for me, I never understood why I was not like everyone else in my life. Why I'm fearful of becoming a bad person. I have been to a few CBT programmes before but they never really helped me. They just offered a quick pick me up and never truly helped me understand why I am the way I am.

But the therapy I was placed upon changed all that. I grew not just a better understanding of myself, but a way I could change myself for the better. I wish to keep this story brief as I do not wish to say more. All I wish to say is that they helped me find out so much more about myself and I will always be thankful for that. I do not know how long this feeling of wellbeing will last, but I know they will be there if I should ever fall again.

Thank you for sharing your story. Its not the length or complexity of the story that matters its the fact that you are able to share how it " feels for you "!.

Its right that you recognize this new sense of greater understanding is both " new " and " fragile ". This doesn't mean they will leave you - but you have to continue with the work you have started and carry on applying the changes you want to bring about....

I'm sure your therapist talked about building your resilience so you can face the ups and downs in life without feeling you are to blame or that its somehow your fault. Sometimes we learn to be more compassionate to ourselves - which is a fantastic gift - to ourselves.
