"Gaene Clinic at CHORLEY"

About: Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Whilst having once cancelled an appointment by post, on the day of my appointment I received a call 2 hours before my appointment asking if I could attend earlier as they’d had a cancellation. I set off and arrived a 1:45 pm. My arranged appointment had been 3pm. It is currently 3:30pm and I’m yet to be seen I have spoken to reception as my car parking ticket is due to expire shortly and have not yet been called. Apparently one of the two consultants at clinic today has gone home feeling unwell and not informed any admin staff.

While I appreciate all the work the NHS staff do, however this is simply not acceptable when I’ve taken extra time off work, arranged additional child care to assist them with an earlier arrival to now having not even been called in time for my scheduled appointment.

We are sorry to hear this, our clinics do sometimes run over time so we would ask patients not to attend their scheduled appointments any earlier than around 15 minutes, in order to help flow through the clinics and also to avoid paying more than is necessary for carparking.

In future please would you consider contacting our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01772 522972 who will be able to liaise with the clinic at the time.
