I recently moved to Ely and joined this practice. Reception staff very efficient and I was quickly offered an 'induction' appointment with a nurse who was also very helpful and efficient and I can now order repeat prescriptions online.
HOWEVER, today I tried to make a routine appointment online and there were no Dr appointments available in the next two weeks, and only 1 available up to 2 November, the latest date displayed. I rang the surgery as I thought I was looking at the wrong page, but the receptionist confirmed the above. By the time I got off the phone that appointment had gone.
I was given a named Dr when I registered, and somehow had the naive idea that I might be able to see one Dr consistently (surely better for patient and Dr) but now it appears that it's unlikely I can see any Dr at all in the next month...
Surely this isn't good practice?
I was told that some appointments would be released at midnight - presumably for a month's time.
At no time when I joined was I told that there would be a 4-week waiting list, and even then you have to be lucky to get one.
