"Compassion and care on ward 18"

About: Heartlands Hospital

(as a relative),

My brother was taken to Heartlands Hospital. He unfortunately passed away the next day. The care he received in his last hours was excellent. He was on Ward 18, and nothing was to much trouble. Two staff stood out and shone that day. Staff Nurse Sammy listened without making any judgements. She was caring, kind and compassionate. The other member of staff was HCA Case (hope ive pronounced his name correctly). He came and offered us drinks and nothing was to much trouble. He was such a lovely young man. Both of them are a credit to the NHS.

Dear loughlk

I would like to take this opportunity of thanking you for your posting as I appreciate it must have been a very difficult time for you and your family. Please accept sincere condolences on the loss of your brother.

I am so pleased to read that you felt supported throughout and your brother received excellent care in his last hours.

I will ensure that your feedback is forwarded to the Ward Manager and their team, who I am sure will be pleased to read your comments, which I hope is acceptable.

Kind regards

M Campbell
