"Urgent care, SAU and theatre"

About: Russells Hall Hospital

My Partner was suffering from what he described as ‘tummy ache’ after rolling around the bed and me giving him medication at home the pain didn’t get any better..

So we decided to take a trip to the hospital, we had seen a doctor in Ugent Care within 10 minutes of arriving and already had a letter to take to SAU. Arriving on SAU my partner was booked in and introduced to staff, bloods were taken and the waiting time was explained (we understood this could take a few hours so we sat patiently for that time) although ppl in the waiting area continued to mutter about wait time!!!!

Cut a long story short my partner had to have emergency surgery and have his appendix out.

I just wanted to say that the treatment myself and my partner recieved was second to none all staff communicated with us and everything was explained and we had many chances to ask questions if we needed to.

The NIC on B5 was just welcoming she was so lovely and even again the day after when we was leaving to go home.

Thank you to all RHH staff you are doing amazing

Thank you very much taking the time to send such lovely feedback about the experience you and your partner had while he was under our care.

We take all feedback very seriously and it is so nice to read of when our patients have been happy with the care given and have felt welcomed by the staff who have treated them.

We have passed on your feedback directly to the teams you have mentioned and who will be delighted to know you appreciated their hard work.
