"Maternity Unit"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - City Campus / Maternity care

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to the two nurses doing Phlebotomy in the maternity unit on Monday 10th September. I have a needle phobia and was incredibly anxious and upset about having to have a blood test despite the happy circumstances.

The member of staff and her colleague went above and beyond to help reassure me, calm me down and took it at a pace I was comfortable with, even though I'm sure that meant delays for other patients (which I apologise for!). They allowed me the time to compose myself after two rounds of blood tests and assured me that many women struggle with the same fear.

It really made me very happy about choosing Nottingham City Hospital as the place to have my baby and I couldn't be more grateful to the NHS for the service I received.

Thank you for sharing your feedback and experience about your time in our care. It’s great to hear how my colleagues at Nottingham City Hospital’s Maternity Unit were able to give you the help and support you needed to get through your blood tests despite your phobia of needles. Thanks for choosing NUH for your care. Wishing you all the best going forward.
