I woke with beginnings of cystitis. I called the surgery and asked for a nurse to call me back. Within 20 minutes she called me, and said come in and give a sample and we'll check it and leave a prescription for you to collect if it is positive. I said i was on my way already and would be there within 4 minutes. I explained that I was about to drive a van to help my son move from student accommodation to London, and needed to be really quick.
On arrival, I got a bottle from reception and went to the loo. As I came out, a nurse in the corridor asked if I was me, and said that she was the one I'd just spoken to. She ushered me into a room, did a stick test, confirmed it was indeed cystitis and then said 'Here's a prescription that I have prepared for you', and handed me the printed prescription all ready to go next door, where it was dispensed within 5 minutes.
I have to thank the staff at St Paul's for their efficiency, courtesy, forward-thinkingness, and for going above and beyond, as was certainly the case on this day. I am always able to speak to a doctor, to get an appointment, and by no means least, able to get through to the receptionists within 3 rings. I think this is unusual and exceptional, and I hope that it may continue. I am delighted with the treatment and advice I have received from many of the GPs at St Paul's over the years, and am truly grateful that they provide such an outstanding service.
"Outstanding and extraordinary service,..."
