"Worst service ever"

About: Northwick Park Hospital

So after waiting several months for an appointment my daughter and I make the 2 hour journey by public transport to NPH.

We try to log in electronically three times as the receptionist didn’t believe us that it wasn’t logging our appointment.

Eventually she checks the system to inform us that we’ve changed our appointment, odd accusation considering we’re standing in front of her.

After a little while we were informed the hospital actually cancelled the appointment because they had booked it in with the wrong clinic!

We were told they informed my ex husband who appears to be down as the next of kin despite it being me her mother who attends all appointments with her and in fact gave birth to her in that very hospital! it seems he didn’t pass that information on to us, he confirmed they had cancelled it 20 mins before our appointment was due!

We were then told we were rescheduled for the 26th, ok so only one week to wait we thought.

Only to check the new letter to see it’s 26th October so another 5.5 weeks to add to already ridiculously long waiting time.

As this wasn’t our error I decided to ring to see if she can be slotted in earlier, no direct telephone number anywhere so I rang the switchboard “you are 14th in the queue”.

In terms of customer satisfaction this service should be given a zero, the attitude of the staff is rude, unapologetic for their clear mistake and clearly some staff are not even up to the job.

I have now experienced first hand just how poor our NHS service has become.

I am very sorry to hear about this very difficult and frustrating visit to the Trust topped by not being able to speak to anyone on the phone.

We cannot identify you from your post, so please contact the PALS team on 0208 869 5118 or LNWH-tr.PALS@nhs.net. If they do not pick up when you ring, they will definitely call you back. We would like to see if we can help you with an appointment and to get customer satisfaction a bit higher.

Best wishes

Sue
