"Pre op assessment"

As a user of this hospital for 30 years this was my first awful experience in the pre operation assessment unit. Instead of coming away feeling reassured and set to go for the operation, the appointment was cold, worrying, and unpleasant with one particularly insensitive and overbearing member of staff. Perhaps try using staff who aren't weary, tired and stressed. Stressing someone out so badly ahead of surgery is not only unhelpful but damaging.
