I visited the nurse regarding a change of dressing and mentioned a pain in my leg which I had assumed was sciatica. She immediately referred me to a Doctor who saw me within 10 minutes. He prescribed a blood thinning injection and I went that evening to the out of hours unit at West berks hospital where the injection was administered. He also arranged for me to have a scan the following day at Royal Berks which revealed DVT. I was immediately put on medication and I cannot thank all involved enough for the prompt action and treatment I received for a condition which could have had severe consequences
