"My husband was cared for in the coronary care..."

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Cardiology

Sorry for the delay in submitting this review!

My husband was admitted in the early hours of 9th August having suffered a heart attack at home and being taken into Treliske by the ambulance service.

When I arrived at the hospital approx 15 minutes after the ambulance y husband was already in surgery so I waited by the CCU ward for about an hour.

The night staff were lovely and caring and comforted me- thank you!

The care my husband received on the ward from ALL of the staff was amazing, their professionalism, skill, kindness etc, etc.

A massive thank you.

My husband suffered a stroke later on during the week whilst another procedure was being undertaken, again their care was amazing.

Happily, after a week of care, treatment and rehabilitation my husband was able to c9me home where he has continued to make fantastic progress!

The follow up care has also been incredible- we cannot thank RCHT Treliske enough!

THANK YOU ALL

Dear Anonymous,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your story with us about the experience you and your husband had in the Coronary Care Unit at the Royal Cornwall Hospital. It is great to read that you felt cared for whilst your husband was in surgery, this must have been a scary time for you, I'm glad that you felt comforted by the staff.

It's lovely to see that the care your husband experienced was amazing, from being admitted, to having surgery and a further procedure following a stroke. I am so pleased that your husband is now home and making fantastic progress in his recovery.

I am responding to you as a member of the Patient and Family Experience Team, but I will ensure that your kind words, praise and thanks are passed on to the Coronary Care Unit.

Thank you again for sharing your story with us.
Very best wishes,

Jess
