A couple of months ago I needed anti-malarials for my kids travel to Africa. I asked about the cost, and was told it would be £18 for the prescriptions.
When I got to the pharmacy, they charged me about £200 for the medicine! I rold them I couldn't afford this. I went back to the surgery to demand my £18 back since nobody had told me about the pharmacy cost, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered with the prescriptions in the first place. They said no. Even though the prescriptions went into the bin, they still cost £18 and all because of lack if information on their part.
Yesterday I started calling at 7:59 am, just to try and get on the queue for appointments.
I ended up calling until 8:30 just to get through and be told that there were no more appointments, please try again tomorrow... This is very inconveniencing and frustrating.
The good: I called back and asked for a telephone appointment.
I was amazed at hiw quickly the doctor on duty called me back, but also swiftly dealt with my need. Very satisfied with that particular service, so I want to thank one Dr, if I'm allowed to mention names. I'm hoping the other GPs are the same.
"Good and bad"
