"Utterly disrespectful"

About: Chelsea & Westminster Hospital

Yesterday, I called the hospital as I felt my baby started moving a lot less than usual as well as a strong back pain. These all seem to be normal for 39 weeks, however the midwife asked me to come in to get checked.

I went home to grab my notes and drove to the hospital. I arrived at 18:58 hours as shown on the parking ticket. At 20:21 I was having the monitor checking the baby’s heart and movements. They all looked fine, but due to the other factors, the midwife in charge asked me to get checked by one of 3 the doctors on duty.

Then, I started waiting. A couple of hours later a doctor came to see the other women in the unit. I could hear her, but she just left ignoring my ward or my circumstance. She didn't bother to check me.

At this point I had been waiting for over 3 hours. When it was nearly 1am, I decided to leave as it was getting very late and I had to drive home.

The midwives persuaded me to wait for another few minutes to see the doctor who turned up at 1am to check me and discharged me home. Thankgod all was fine. I left the hospital close to 2am, unacceptable waiting time.

As labour approaches, I’m deeply concerned about how this will be after this stressful experience.
