Having recently been discharged from hospital after elective surgery, i found myself at home still catheterised .
I was given a series of instructions on who to contact to follow up treatment. I was told by my consultant that my Catheter would be remove within 5 days. Someone would come out and do it..
On ring the numbers I was told this was not the case and there was a waiting list of up 13-15 weeks .
Wherever I rang for this and other service,
I hit a brick wall.
There was obviously a complete beak down in information between the hospital and other Trust agencies.
So I contacted by Moorfield House Surgery at Garforth, where right from the on duty receptionist who made me feel as though at last I was being listened to.
Next my Gp's secretary contacted me and told me that she was going to contact people on my behalf acting on behalf of my named GP.
I also received a telephone call from my Doctor checking up on how I was feeling now home.
I was kept fully informed of all that was being done and I now have an appointment at the Urology depart in the next couple of days.
I cannot thank the practice enough for providing the help when it was most needed. I felt
that picked up the pieces that was not really their problem and for that I am so really grateful.
I made a point of asking whom I was speaking to so that I could that them all.
This practice went above and beyond their remit.
For this I am really grateful.
