I had a hysterectomy on the 31st of August 2018, I would like to start by saying Thank You to all the wonderful staff who looked after me. At each stage of my treatment my experience has been positive. I have a kind and understanding consultant, who from my very first appointment listened and allayed my fears, on the day of my OP, she fully explained what was going to happen and she left me feeling very confident and prepared. The Anaesthesist was also very kind, she answered all my questions and again, fully explained what was going to happen. The lady who took me down to the forward team waiting area was wonderful, she was cheerful, full of fun and very calming, in fact, my experience at every stage was great, upon returning from Surgery, I was welcomed back onto Ward 3E by a lovely HCA, my parents were with me and she made us feel very welcome, and visiting times were not an issue. I was slightly disorientated and my Parents were allowed to stay with me well past official visiting end, and this small gesture was most appreciated. All the staff on Ward 3E were very cheerful, friendly and professional, a smile goes a long way, and again I would like to say thank you, as I feel that my speedy discharge, I was only in for 3 nights, was wholly due to the staff who looked after me with such consideration.
