"Fantastic service from the A and E department"

About: Moorfields Eye Hospital (City Road Campus)

Whilst on holiday in the UK I developed Iritis. The drops I was using were not having any effect and I woke on July 18th unable to see out of my left eye. I rang my Ophthalmologist in Australia who said to make my way to London and go directly to Moorefields Hospital. We arrived at the A and E department at about 10 o'clock and I was prepared for a visit taking the whole day if indeed I was eligible to be seen as a visitor to the country. We proceeded from the Administration department to the Triage then to the Nursing Practitioner where I had tests. We then waited to see an Ophthalmologist who gave me excellent advice on the treatment and what to do should I have further attacks of Iritis. He looked up information to check that other cancer medication I am taking couldn't be a trigger for the Iritis. From there we followed the yellow line to get the prescription. We were out on the pavement in under three hours. Everyone was very efficient, calm, courteous and extremely knowledgeable. We were very impressed at the smooth transitions between each area and the waiting time was within reasonable limits. I was so grateful for the wonderful care. It is indeed a world class hospital. Thank you.
