I was told I needed a 'TURP' operation back in November 2017 due to my difficulty passing water.I was in a lot of pain when 'going' and I had 'urinary retention' which meant I wasn't 'voiding' properly.I had to wear a catheter and bag for 9 monthes which was a grind because it was awkward, embarasiing and a worry.
I was finally admitted to a ward on May the 1st 2018 and I was very happy for my 'problem'
to be solved. To cut along story short -after surgery I had a temporary catheter for 5 days and after this it was taken away and I was able to 'go' for the first time.I'm extremely grateful to all in the Urology Department and ofcourse the brilliantly talented Consultant Surgeon that performed my procedure.
I am overjoyed that my life is back to normal and id like this review to go out to all the men who are in a similar position as me - please don't worry or be anxious about going in for a prostate operation.Mine went like a dream and I now have no pain at all.Thankyou so much New Cross !
