"Bull in a china shop"

About: Nottingham Woodthorpe Hospital

Booked in for Gastroscopy.

Having had one a few years ago i new what the procedure would be.

I expected a gentle procedure as before, boy was i wrong.

The first attempt hit the back of my throat with such a force i wanted to give up there and then.

Then it was thrust after thrust I think 5 or 6 times before it entered my oesophagus nothing with any finesse pure get it over with as quick as possible.Quick whip around my stomach and straight out.

Quick talk about what they had found and then off you go.No drink or check on your throat.

Poor experience.

I am very sorry that you did not have a pleasant experience during your procedure and we failed to meet your expectations.

I would like to respond to your feedback as a formal complaint in line with our complaints policy. Would you be so kind as to contact me directly so that I can take further details. We take all patient feedback very seriously and when patients tell us we could have done better we do listen and learn so that the care and services we provide continually improve.

I look forward to hearing from you.
