I attended the Urgent Care Centre at 10.30pm on a Sunday night for an appointment that was made after contacting 111. The waiting area wasn’t full, but there were enough people already there for me to think that I’d have to wait for an hour or so.
Much to my surprise, I was called at exactly the time of the appointment. I was examined and dealt with in a thoroughly professional manner and a course of medication was prescribed.
I was expecting to have to take a prescription to a pharmacy the following morning, but was able to take the medication from the Urgent Care Centre with an invoice for the prescription charge to pay later.
This is the first time that I have used the Urgent Care Centre for treatment ‘out of hours’ my only other experience having been with visiting A & E. I knew that I needed treatment and that I shouldn’t wait until Monday morning, but I also knew that visiting A & E was not appropriate. I found that the 111 service worked seamlessly with the Urgent Care Centre and cannot praise the staff, service and treatment I received highly enough.
Thank you
