I was invited to join the Cardiac Rehabilitation Programme at St. Peters following Heart Surgery at St. Georges.
I attended an explanatory session and immediately agreed to join the programme.
I attended the full course which has just completed.
The balance and structure of the programme was very well suited to me and I not only enjoyed everything about it, but genuinely felt it was aiding my recovery and providing an element of discipline toward defined objectives.
Checking and noting my heart rate was difficult as I have AF, but the staff were very helpful in defining a way in which useful values could be achieved.
As the programme progressed, the repetitions within the circuits were increased and, toward the end, the number of circuits was increased also.
I got valuable advice and pointers for future exercise which I certainly intend following.
The staff were tremendous from start to finish and I am very grateful for all the help and advice they have given me.
A great programme !
