About: Glenfield Hospital

What I liked

I underwent the removal of a lung tumour and connected tissue in December 2011 using the VATS technique. I am fairly phobic about a number of the elements associated with this whole situation. The staff did their best to put me at ease at all points; they listened to my input and modified their care to assist me.

I felt fit and well after the operation, was home two days later, and at work the day after that. I've taken no optional pain medication, including the morphine drip in hospital or tablets to take home, and have suffered only minor discomfort. This I put down to the marvels of modern surgery and the skill of the team. From my thankfully limited experience, I can wholly recommend the team on Ward 26.
