My mum was told she had irritable bowel syndrome by a doctor at Whittington hospital and sent home. She rang Alexandra surgery in the morning and got a telephone appointment the same day. The GP listened to her when she told them she had these bowel problems and referred her urgently to the hospital for cancer. My mum got an appointment in 4 days and they did tests which showed she did have bowel cancer.

My mum has had treatment for her cancer and is doing well after chemotherapy.

The staff at Alexandra surgery have always been helpful to my family and thanks to the staff and to the GP who referred my mum she got treated quickly.
