"Unhelpful and disappointing"

My experience with this GP practice has not been a pleasant one. I am a doctor myself and have just moved in to London. I suffer from severe allergic rhinitis and requested an urgent prescription for a medication I am regularly taking as recommended by ENT specialist. I was advised to call between 8 and 9 am during the time duty doctor is available to facilitate the timing of prescription. However, the approach was rigid and unresponsive. I was told there is a 48 hours rule, I can buy the medication over the counter if I need it more urgently. I felt that both receptionist I have talked to and the duty doctor where unresponsive and not willing to make an extra step. As a result I have decided to change my GP practice and seeing it now from patient's perspective I would definitely not recommend this practice to anyone.

As we explained we operate a 48 hours rule.

The practice always tries to help our patients, and I am sorry if you felt that we did not on this occasion. We are a busy practice and we do try to help patients as much as possible but we have policies in place to ensure that all our patients get a good and fair service. I can only apologise if you felt us to be unhelpful, as this is not how our patients usually view us.
