What I liked

The ambulance staff and A&E staff were excellent.

What could be improved

The food left something to be desired at times. It's the first time I've had green carrot & butternut squash soup....

The OT forms need to be more comprehensive if these are to be used instead of a home visit. Equipment must be discussed with the patient rather than being forced upon them. A discussion allows the patient to be involved in their life. Do not just force the "have a bed in the lounge" option onto people.

Ensure that patients are actually able to manage at least some of the normal daily life such as going to the toilet before you discharge them. It's the little things!

Anything else?

Unfortunately, not all nursing staff are working here to provide care. Some were just downright rude and worked on the principle that care and assistance should be given only when they saw fit. I do not appreciate hearing people asking for a commode for over 30 minutes only to be told wait until I'm ready or having to watch people humiliated when they have been left in a chair for 14 hours only to find out that they can no longer move themselves.

To say that patients are treated with dignity only occurs some of the time. It does not occur all of the time. I know that the staff are, to coin a phrase overworked and underpaid, but it is not the patients fault, so it does not need to be taken out on them.
