"From the labour ward and theatre to the nurses in NICU..."

About: Aberdeen Maternity Hospital / Neonatal Unit (Special Care Baby Unit) Aberdeen Maternity Hospital / Obstetrics (Maternity care)

(as the patient),

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to all of the staff in Aberdeen Maternity Hospital for the care and help me and my little one received when she was born and the week following.

From the team in labour ward and theatre for making me feel at ease throughout my long labour and delivery! To the wonderful nurses in NICU who helped me and my partner when our little one was sickly.

There was not one single member of staff that we met who was not wonderful and caring.

Every member of staff on Westburn ward looked after all of us as if we were the only people there, when at times they were short staffed. All of the midwives couldn't have done enough for you, no matter what time of day or night it was.

In the end me and baby had to spend a week in the hospital which was tough at times, but the whole experience from start to finish was a positive one, which is the result of the staff who we met.

Dear Forbsie93

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter, I do hope you are all well now and enjoying family life.

It sounds like you had a challenging time and I am so glad you felt very well supported by all the staff. It's really important to us all to know that you were cared for in a kind and compassionate way. We very much appreciate you taking time to provide this feedback, especially at a time when I'm sure life is busy.

Best wishes for the future, I hope you have lots of happy times ahead.

Jayne

Dear Forbsie93

Thank you for the positive feedback about nursing staff in the NICU and midwifery staff in AMH. It is such a stressful time for parents when their newborn is unwell but it is very reassuring to hear that you felt well supported and looked after.

I will ensure that nursing staff in the NICU hear your feedback as this is really important for staff to hear from parents, this really makes a difference.

Enjoy your daughter as they grow up far too quick!

Kind regards
