"Knee Surgery"

Greeted by a personal concierge on arrival & shown to my room for day case surgery.

Everwhere seemed to be spotlessly clean. The medical staff were excellent from the pre-op visits of the anaesthetist & the consultant to the recovery & ward teams.

However the Outpatients dept. system is confusing - there is a Main reception desk & an OPD Nurses Station.

I only found by trial & error that you are supposed to report to the Nurses station as an outpatient & if you use the main reception, your presence is not noted on the computer system & you don't get any attention. A few large notices to this effect would be very helpful for patients attending for pre-ops & post-op treatment.

Also, from my own experience & from reading the reviews on here, there would seem to be a difference in the service that patients receive depending on their private or NHS status even if the actual medical treatments & procedures are exactly the same.

That said, I would have no hesitation in recommending the Bone & Joint Centre to anyone, whether private health patient or not.
