Following an unsupervised fall at a care home mother was sent to hudds a and e by the paramedics who had been called to the home following the incident. She had a cut to the back of her head
Mother is 94 and suffers mixed type dementia
She was admitted to a and e 1.00 am.
She was not seen by a clinician until 5.30 am
Frequent requests to nursing staff were ignored
She was given no care no water
She was allowed a commode after frequent requests.
The hype you promote about care respect etc was completely absent.
At one point we were informed dismissively that staff were operating on a skeleton staff.
Skeleton staff!!!!!
A and E!!!
It could be well argued staff were unkind
We have utmost respect and fabulous experience with calderdale.
Not the case here. It was horrendous
We will seriously object to any future requirements for us to attend this awful department.
Especially when her care home (fully privately funded by ourselves) is 2 minutes from calderdale Royal.
