"Rude, disrespectful and upsetting"

About: Little Chalfont Surgery

Was a patient of the surgery for nearly 3 years and in all that time it was always difficult to get through on the telephone and even in person you could be standing at the window for a good few minutes being ignored by the very short and unhelpful receptionists.

The incident that led me to this review was around an address change. I was told by a Doctor at the surgery I would be able to stay with them as I was mid pregnancy and only moving 4 miles away. However, after the move I informed the receptionists of my new address, who then became very difficult and said they would need to consult with the Doctor. I recalled the conversation I had with the other Doctor and they noted it.

A week or so later I received two telephone calls, one from a receptionist and then a follow up from the Doctor which were greatly upsetting. I explained the conversation I had had with the junior Doctor and Doctor said it never happened and well enough called me a liar. At this point, well into my pregnancy I can assure you that a) I was not lying and b) would not be putting myself through unnecessary stress.

Despite me recalling about patient choice, the excuse given was that people "might" move into the area and they would be oversubscribed! I asked about it going further and he basically said "don't bother, I wont change my mind".

I found this treatment very upsetting and stressful. I will also add that my partner was also told he could stay at the surgery.

I have since found a new surgery in Chesham, who were brilliant in ensuring the continuation of my antenatal care and were shocked and horrified at my treatment.

Avoid at all costs.
