About: Wansbeck Hospital

My 6 year old son fell at school and badly cut the back of his head open. He was saw very quickly by a triage who temporarily bandaged it then 5 minutes later was took to cubicles. He was attended to by the LOVELY doctor and his lovely assistant (can't remember her name sorry). They both were great with his, made him feel at ease as he was scared due to a tongue accident the year before. And although they couldn't treat him there, he has to be transferred to NSEC cramlington, both gave him their utmost attention and kindness. The doctor even gave my son a little yellow teddy with a matching head bandage like his. He was over the moon. Thank you to all involved in my son's care, it is extremely appreciated.....

Dear Sharmaine,

What a traumatic experience this must have been for you and your 6 year old son, I am pleased the doctor you met did everything possible to put your son at ease.

We would like to ensure the doctor you mention is given the opportunity to read your review, please could you email us with your sons full name, date of birth and home address? This will help us to track down the name of the doctor and the assistant who looked after your son. I am sure they will be delighted to read your review, our email address is patient.experience@nhct.nhs.uk. In the meantime I will forward your review to the team in urgent care at Wansbeck hospital.

All the best to you and your son,

Jan
