About: The Whittington Hospital

What I liked

I had my son at the brith centre, it was very well maintained. The midwives was lovely especially after hearing other peoples Experience with midwives in other hospital. The after care was great too, the staff wore friendly ,helpful and even bough my husband hospital meals to eat. Assist me in trying to breastfeed my son.

Ante-natal was not well oraginsed sadly, sometimes people waited up to 2 hours to be seen by a midwives and never the same midwives at all appointents.

Only down point, was parking expensive we paid so much money to park on the street and the hospital parking isn't cheap either, especially when your in the hospital for 2 days!

Anything else?

Please make some parking Exception for women in labour, having to park on the street then walk for 5-10mins to the hospital while in labour is horrible!

Response from The Whittington Hospital

Sorry for the delay in acknowledging your response. The PALS and Complaints Team have only recently taken on the acknowledging of NHS Choices comments.

We are very glad that your experience in the birth centre was so positive and so sorry that you had to walk to the department whilst in Labour. It should have been possible for someone to drop you off at the department rather than having to walk so far. I am very sorry that this was not communicated to you prior to your attending the hospital.
